| America's dream in a atomic energy powered commercial vessel, was the start for the developing of the NS SAVANNAH. Design was developed by George C.Sharp Inc. together with the Atomic Energy Commission, U.S.Navy and Maritime Administration. The SAVANNAH is a single-screw passenger-crew. Machinery performed 20,00 HP normal and 22,00 max., giving a 21 knot service speed. The vessel had accomodations for 60 passengers and a crew of 110. |
